MySpace predator suspect faces new charges:

Patrick Buss, who was arrested back in April for trying to lure teenage girls to a motel room, has been arrested again…

A Hubbard, Ore., man, arrested late last month for allegedly arranging to meet two high school girls at a LaPine motel was arrested Friday at the Deschutes County Courthouse on new, more serious charges involving a Tillamook County victim.

Patrick Nicholas Buss was taken into custody when he showed up at Circuit Judge Ed Perkins’ courtroom for arraignment on the original charges that included computer crime, contributing to the sexual abuse of a minor and third-degree charges of attempted sex abuse, attempted rape and attempted sodomy.

The new charges include two third-degree counts each of rape, sex abuse and sodomy, as well as furnishing alcohol to a minor and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.

The investigation led to discovery of an additional victim in the Tillamook area, Edwards said Friday. At the request of Tillamook County authorities, sheriff’s detectives contacted Buss and took him into custody on the Tillamook County charges. He was lodged in the county jail, pending transport to Tillamook County.

Again, here and here are Buss’ MySpace profiles. He’s still getting comments from girls even after his initial arrest. I wonder if some vigilante commenting is in order.

Soldier’s Myspace site listed serial killers as idols:

FORT LEWIS, Wash. — Military attorneys on Thursday repeatedly objected to evidence and witness testimony in the case of a soldier accused of brutally mutilating his teenage wife, bringing to a crawl a murder trial that was expected to last only five days.

The government in the past four days has presented more than 10 witnesses – evidence specialists, family and mental health workers – as its builds its case against Spc. Brandon Bare, accused in the death of Nabila Bare, 18, at this Army post south of Tacoma.

The young woman was found in the couple’s kitchen on July 12, 2005, a pentagram carved into her stomach and stabbed at least 71 times, including with a meat cleaver that remained in her neck.

Bare, 20, of Wilkesboro, N.C., is charged with premeditated murder and faces a maximum penalty of life in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors contend Bare planned to kill his wife and had been scanning Web sites for pentagrams. On Thursday, the government attempted to show a military jury Internet sites it said he visited before the killing in search of such diagrams.

Lead prosecutor Capt. Scott DiRocco was allowed to submit what the government says was Bare’s page on MySpace.com, a social networking Web site where users can chat with friends and list their interests.

The page shows serial killers Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson as people the user would like to meet.

In interviews with investigators, Bare said he’d thought about strangling Nabila Bare, and had thought of Ramirez, the Los Angeles “Night Stalker” convicted of 13 murders.

Army special agent Patrick Rasmussen testified that only a person with Bare’s username and password would have been able to enter information under his MySpace profile.

Bare apparently last visited the site July, 11, 2005, one day before the killing.

Surprisingly his MySpace is still up. And sure enough he describes himself as a Dark Neo-Pagan Witch and anti-social. His favorite books are The Satanic Bible, Nocturnal WitchCraft, Gothic Grimoire, A-Z encyclopedia of Serial Killers, and oddly enough The Bible. And in fact he does list Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson as his heroes.

If that isn’t relative evidence I don’t know what is.

Hearing held in MySpace assault:

Nicolas Brinson, one of the suspects in the Colorado rape and theft case, appeared in court Monday…

BOULDER: A Boulder teen accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met on the Internet admitted to investigators he continued trying to have sex with her while she vomited after drinking too much, a detective testified Monday.

“He said, ‘Sex is sex,'” Boulder County Sheriff’s Detective Ali Bartley said under oath.

What a winner he is.

Nicolas Brinson, 18, is accused of repeatedly having sex with the woman, also 18, during a party at her house Feb. 23, after meeting her for the first time that night. County investigators say the two became acquainted via the MySpace social networking Web site.

During her testimony Monday, Bartley described how investigators believe the group partied at the 18-year-old woman’s house near 61st Street and Valmont Road before stealing thousands of dollars worth of the woman’s family’s belongings and leaving the home in shambles.

Bartley testified that some members of the group drank alcohol together at the woman’s house. The woman told investigators she drank between 10 and 15 shots of Grand Marnier alcohol in an hour before she went to her room.

The woman does not remember going to her room, though some people at the party told investigators they saw her and Brinson go to her room holding hands, Bartley said.

The woman told detectives she had blacked out for a good part of the night, waking up briefly while she was being assaulted to say “no” and “don’t do this to me; I am so drunk,” Bartley said.

Another woman who was at the party told investigators she saw Brennan and Heneks go into the woman’s room later that night and try to wake her up, saying, “If you don’t get up, we’re going to rob your house.”

When the woman didn’t get up, the two, accompanied by others at the party, proceeded to go from room to room, looking for things to steal, Bartley testified Monday.

In all, about $40,000 in belongings were taken, Bartley said, including expensive jewelry, clothes and stereo equipment. When investigators searched Brinson’s home, they recovered a parka, about $70 in change and a bottle of prescription medication, all reported stolen from the woman’s home, Bartley said.

Brinson, clad in blue jeans, construction-style boots and a white shirt said nothing during Monday’s hearing. He has been charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a helpless victim, two counts of sexually assaulting a victim incapable of appraising condition, criminal mischief between $500 and $15,000, and theft of $15,000.

His attorney, Steven Louth, argued that prosecutors didn’t have enough evidence for Brinson to be bound over on felony theft charges, as the items recovered from his home were not worth that much money and because he didn’t know the other people at the party very well.

But Judge John Stavely said he believed there was probable cause to believe Brinson was complicit in the theft of the items from the woman’s home because he reportedly left the party with some of those people in a cab, leaving room in their personal vehicles for the stolen goods.

“It could be inferred that he was involved,” Stavely said.

Brinson is scheduled to appear again in court June 23. He remains free on $30,000 bond. The other men implicated in the case are due in court Thursday afternoon.

Man charged with abusing girl he met on MySpace:

A Blue Island man has been charged with seven counts of criminal sexual abuse involving a 14-year-old Antioch girl he met on the popular Web site MySpace.com, authorities said Wednesday.

Michael R. Zbonski, 20, and the girl had been communicating online for a year or more, officials said.

Pat Fix, chief of the cybercrimes unit of the Lake County state’s attorney’s office, said Zbonski is accused of having sexual relations with the girl on Jan. 28 and 29.

Fix would not say where the incidents took place, but she said the girl’s parents called the Lake Villa Police Department some time after the two met in person.

Authorities interviewed numerous people and conducted a forensic examination of the girl’s computer before filing charges. Fix would not say what they found but credited investigator Mark Pleasant of the state’s attorney’s office.

Zbonski has been released on a recognizance bond. He is not permitted to see the girl or have any unsupervised visits with anyone younger than 17.

If convicted, Zbonski could get 7 years in prison for each charge, officials said.

And here is Mikey’s MySpace profile. You know, when I was 20 I was trying to date girls older than me not 6 years younger. What’s wrong with you scumbags?

Welcome to the Rogues Gallery Mikey. I know you’ll hate it. Mikey hates everything, except sex with underage girls.

Attention citizens of Massachusetts

Or as I like to call them, Massholes. (Relax, I’m just kidding.)

Anyway, your Attorney General Tom Reilly is calling on MySpace to beef up their security when it comes to minors. He’s making some good and some not so good requests.

First he wants MySpace to change its minimum user age to 18. I have no problem with that but he doesn’t say how MySpace should do that. I suggest credit card number validations. That won’t keep every minor out but it will keep most of them out.

He also wants every MySpace page equipped with a “Report Inappropriate Content” link. That’s actually a great idea.

He wants MySpace to respond to all reports of inappropriate content within 24 hours and significantly increase the number of employees who review images and content. Sounds reasonable. Newscorp does have assloads of cash.

He wants MySpace to immediately delete any profiles that violate MySpace’s Terms of Use Agreement and permanently banning those members from using the site. I also agree with this because MySpace is notoriously bad in enforcing their TOS. Banning members is harder though. How do you ban a member from getting another account?

He wants MySpace to immediately remove all advertisements and other MySpace sponsored content that are inappropriate for children. Yeah, that’ll happen.

And lastly like the Conn. AG he wants MySpace to offer free, downloadable software that allows parents to block use of MySpace. I don’t think that should be MySpace’s responsibility. With just a little knowledge any parent can have MySpace blocked on their computer.

AG Reilly is also trying to educate parents…

As part of an effort to enhance parental awareness of online safety for children, AG Reilly’s Office is leading a series of workshops throughout Massachusetts to educate parents about the dangers that children face when using the Internet. Today AG Reilly will conduct an Internet Safety program for parents in Weymouth warning them of the potential dangers that exist when their children use the Internet.

How many parents actually attend these workshops remains to be seen. My guess is there won’t be enough.

H.S. Teacher Accused Of Trying To Kill Student:

A high school teacher in Belleville, Ill., was arrested and charged with breaking the neck of a 17-year-old student and then leaving her to die in some woods, according to police.

Investigators said Samson Shelton, 26, who is a teacher at Columbia High School, tried to strangle Ashley Reeves and then left her to die.

Shelton was with St. Clair County detectives when they found Reeves in a park in Belleville. She survived in the woods for 30 hours before she was found.

“They worked all night, never let up, and they found her and they saved her life,” St. Clair County Sheriff Mearl Justus said. “It’s that simple.”

Police said Shelton apparently used his forearm to break Reeves’ neck.

Here is Shelton’s MySpace.

Chaplin man arrested; allegedly met girl, 13, on MySpace.com:

A 27-year-old Chaplin man was arrested and a missing 13-year-old Hebron girl was found in a Portland motel room late Monday night. State police say the pair allegedly began a relationship after she used the Web site Myspace.com.

Aaron Whitney was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He is being held on $750,000 bond and was to appear in Middletown Superior Court today.

State police responded to a complaint of a missing girl Monday afternoon. Troopers learned the girl never got on her school bus and did not go to school. After finding out about the alleged relationship, police identified the suspect and put out descriptions of the suspect, his car and the missing girl. A Portland police officer located the car at the Portland Motel just before midnight. Police say both Whitney and the girl were in the room.

Whitney was taken into custody and the girl was transported to Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, was treated and released to her parents.

What is up with Connecticut? It seems like they have more of these stories than any other state.

Anyway here is more than likely Aaron Whitney’s MySpace. The only thing that doesn’t match is his age. Plus it’s all stripped down. Maybe he was clearing it in case of an arrest.

MySpace predator suspect caught in LaPine:

A 24-year-old Hubbard, Ore. man was arrested after knocking on the door of a LaPine motel room, allegedly to meet two high school girls he chatted up in sexually explicit fashion at the online site MySpace.com, police said Friday.

Patrick Nicholas Buss was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail in Bend on several charges but released early Friday on his own recognizance, pending a court date next month, officials said.

Last month, two LaPine High students contacted the sheriff’s school resource officer and reported receiving sexually explicit e-mails from an unknown man at MySpace.com, said sheriff’s Capt. Tim Edwards.

The contact initially was only “friendly conversation, but changed to sexually explicit language over the course of a few weeks,” Edwards said.

Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation and identified the man as Buss, the captain said.

Buss allegedly made arrangements to come to LaPine “for the purpose of having sexual contact with the girls,” Edwards said in a news release.

Thursday evening, Buss allegedly knocked on a motel room door “where he believed one of the girls was present, but instead was (greeted) by sheriff’s detectives who took him into custody without incident,” Edwards said.

Early Friday, Deschutes County sheriff’s detectives raided Buss’s home in Hubbard, a small town between Salem and Portland, and seized additional evidence, Edwards said.

Buss was lodged in the Bend jail on charges of computer crime, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and third-degree charges of attempted sex abuse, attempted rape and attempted sodomy, Edwards said.

But a jail officer said he was released from the crowded jail Friday morning on his own recognizance pending a May 19 court date.

And we have two MySpace profiles for Buss here and here.

“Pamela Rogers Faces New Accusations”: (Video of news article in the link)

There are new accusations Wednesday against convicted sex offender and former Warren County teacher Pamela Rogers. Rogers was arrested after the district attorney said she recently sent a pornographic video of herself to her teenage victim.

Rogers served six months in jail for having a sexual relationship with at 13-year-old student. She was released from jail February 26. On April 12, police arrested Rogers for violating her probation. Rogers reportedly made contact with the victim and his family through a MySpace website, referring the young victim by his basketball jersey number.

But it’s ok because she’s an attractive woman. [/sarcasm]
